A Dream Come True!

There comes a point in any author's life when their first published novel is in hard copy print and they can hold it in their hands for the first time. I'm excited that I've just passed that point. I have dreamt of the day since I began writing as soon as I knew how to print and started my first novel when I was eight.

Writing has always been an art form to me. Something that is beautifully intricate and emotional at the same time as it is complex. Even my first novel, finished once I was ten or so, was emotional to me. My first novel was a work of non-fiction revolving around the personal growth and love I attained by sharing a beautiful relationship with my first pony, Acorn. By the time I was eleven I had written a series of seven novellas for kids all revolving around horses.

Later on, I attempted to get a book published through a Christian Romance book club. I had recently gotten into writing romance and loved taking situations in life that go badly and playing with how two characters must deal with such situations. Unfortunately, my book was denied, but in the end, it worked out for the best. I knew I didn't want to write books that dealt with impractical, perfect lives where the biggest climax is "should I love him?"

And thus began my "situational romances"...romances that deal with true life situations and how two characters overcome these hurdles (or don't). One of the first I wrote was about a married couple who couldn't agree on whether to have kids or not. The man wanted to have children and the woman did not. Another dealt with the issues surrounding how a person's past might affect their future in love.

Only after having an inkling to write a vampire romance was I inspired to publish. Don't get me wrong, personally I do not understand the obsession over vampires and romance. After dreaming of being one and having a war showdown in a warehouse, however, I knew I had to write my first published novel, Bullets of Fire. I was compelled to, and after the way it turned out, I don't regret a bit of it.

I also recently published a novel I had written earlier, Sunrises and Skylines. Then, going back to my situational romance kick, I popped out Feeling Winter within a matter of days, the heartwarming story of two outcasts, a blind man and a woman who ended up being close to a mirror image of myself, and it has easily become my personal favorite.

I am just super excited to share this all with anyone out there who may be a future fan. Regardless of how far publishing my novels takes me, having my books in hard copy is amazing to the utmost extent. They turned out beautifully, and I would encourage anyone who is an author to go the self publishing route if you are denied by major publishers, or, if you simply want to be solely in charge of your works.

I am keeping all of my books updated at my website, which is located here. For any other personal comments or sayings, I'll put it here. Thanks to all who have read and feel inspired!
